Job Description
Wagstaff Law Firm is seeking a Paralegal with Personal Injury experience or a background in the medical field. This role requires exceptional proficiency in reviewing and interpreting medical records to help build strong cases for our clients. If you have worked as a paralegal, medical assistant, or in a role requiring medical documentation review, this is a unique opportunity to combine those skills in a meaningful legal setting. Essential Job Functions
- Extensive medical record review and analysis to identify critical case details.
- Prepare medical chronologies for cases
- Legal document review
- Observes confidentiality of all clients and the Firm
- Assist attorneys in deposition preparation
- Assistant in expert generation and preparation of expert report/discovery
- Organizes and maintains attorney trial documents, case notebooks, expert witness binders and exhibit lists
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents
- Work with attorneys on case status updates
- Collect case evidence and documentation
- E-filing in state and federal courts
- Draft court pleadings of various types
- Schedules and coordinates with defense, witness, experts, clients on depositions
- Monitors case calendars and court deadlines to meet deadlines
- Perform others duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience with Medical Records
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Paralegal required
- High school diploma required and Associate's degree preferred
- Paralegal certificate preferred.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, research, docketing and electronic filings required.
- Document management experience preferred.
- Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with attorneys, supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, clients, and outside vendors.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
- Must be able to work well under tight deadlines.
- Must be willing to work overtime and travel as needed
Salary starting from $33 - $40 per hour, based on skillset and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K matching plus quarterly performance-based bonuses
