Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to bring our IT services in-house, taking over all responsibilities currently managed by an external IT provider. This role will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across our firm.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong technical expertise in hardware, networking, system administration, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. They should have experience transitioning IT services from an external provider to an in-house solution, ensuring a smooth migration, minimizing disruptions, and implementing best practices for long-term success. This role requires a hands-on approach to IT support, system management, and strategic IT planning.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage and maintain on-site servers, networks, and VPNs

  • Administer Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and user access controls

  • Configure and manage firewalls and network security

  • Administer Microsoft 365, including Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams

  • Manage Azure Virtual Machines, Intune, and Endpoint Manager

  • Utilize PowerShell scripting for automation and system management

  • Implement and maintain security protocols, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication (MFA)

  • Oversee vulnerability scanning, security patching, and compliance monitoring

  • Ensure adherence to SOC 2, HIPAA, or other relevant security frameworks

  • Provide hardware, software, and network troubleshooting for staff

  • Deploy and set up laptops, software, and user permissions

  • Implement self-service IT solutions to improve efficiency

  • Configure and maintain device management policies

  • Manage Windows OS imaging and deployment tools

  • Oversee software installations, updates, and license management

  • Order and track hardware and software purchases

  • Maintain inventory of IT assets and ensure proper lifecycle management

  • Lead the transition from an external IT provider to in-house IT management

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and IT innovation

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience transitioning IT services from an external provider to in-house IT management strongly preferred

  • Strong hardware troubleshooting skills (PCs, laptops, servers, printers, peripherals)

  • Expertise in network administration, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPNs

  • Knowledge of backup & disaster recovery solutions

  • Experience with remote desktop support tools (TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Windows Remote Desktop)

  • Familiarity with cloud services (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS)

  • Working knowledge of Excel and IT automation tools is a plus

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset

  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • High level of attention to detail and security awareness

Salary starting from $60,000 - $80,000, based on skillset and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K matching plus quarterly performance-based bonuses
